This is why staff is silent.
In 2024 HHS suffered from a
26% turnover rate for DSP's.
That burns lots of money.
To fire me they claimed
that I did not assist staff
three times over three years
during a behavior incident:
April 22, 2020
August 24, 2022
and March 31, 2023
Look at the numbers:
On average there are
260 working days per year,
or 780 days over three years.
On Cottage F at Brenham
we had behaviors everyday,
many times two residents had
a behavior at the same time.
Cottage F had two 12 hour shifts,
600am/600pm & 600pm/600am.
Only two staff members per shift.
We had 10 men to watch.
Daily from 6pm to 10pm
we had behaviors to handle.
A quiet night was rare.
Many nights we would
have a behavior in Cottage F
while another of our guys was
having a behavior somewhere
else on the Brenham campus.
One of us had to leave
our partner alone to deal
with the resident in Cottage F
and run across the campus
to where our other guy was
screaming and violent.
We used the de-escalation
techniques as we were trained.
We had to contol the situation.
After 500pm there is no help
because of staff shortage.
Every night we had to deal
with one of our guys who
was having an angry episode.
We had very active guys who were
being prepared to move out of
Brenham to a community home.
No resident ever moved
to a community home.
After four years with the same residents
you learn their twitches and triggers.
You learn how to calm them
and to redirect them.
With 780 incidents over three years,
you sharpen your mediation skills.
My case is an example of
how HHS screws staff over.
In the April 19th letter Leesa stated
the Behavior Specialist reviewed
the video of the March 31st incident
and determined I did not assist.
You can read the 4/19 DAN letter and
listen to the audio recording of the
6/19/23 TWC appeal hearing.
I asked where was the video?
Leesa states there is no video
because the incident occured
outside the building.
She states that there are
no cameras outside anywhere
where the incident took place.
Leesa admits that the camera is
inside the building to record
activity inside the building.
By admitting under oath
that I am not in the video
Leesa admits the type of
fraud they use to fire staff.
The Behavior Specialist did
not see anyting in the video.
By admitting I was not in the video
Leesa admits she lied in the
4/19 DAN letter she gave me.
This is the type of fraud
they use to fire staff.
HHS requested the appeal hearing
but refused to provide any
witnesses or evidence.
Why?
Because they had none,
as with other staff
they fabricate charges
against staff to fire them.
Leesa claims there are statements
from two staff members who
assisted in the incident.
One dated 4/03/23 and one dated 4/24/23
almost a whole month after the incident.
But Leesa refused to have them at the
hearing to be questioned under oath.
The statements cannot be used as evidence.
Were they coerced to
write those statements?
More false accusations,
it is not the first time.
Did HHS attorneys
in Austin approve
using false charges
to cover up the
abuse and neglect?
This is how they fire
staff using deception.
Are there no ethics at HHS?
No accountability
for the fraud at HHS?
